Silver-Mounted ‘Boulle-Work’ Desk Stand

A good mid-19th century Boulle-work DESK STAND or Standish of ebony, profusely inlaid with ornate brass scrollwork, with a central lidded compartment (which was probably for wafers) flanked by twin inkwells, both of which have ornate silver lids, hallmarked London 1851. 12.5ins wide.
